Walmart's new commitment to veterans

Thursday is Veterans Day--which I will post about on 11/11.

But Walmart stores is honoring veterans right now, as you will learn in this video:

From WalmartStores.com:

At Walmart, we are thankful for the service and sacrifices of our nation’s military men and women, veterans, and their families – and we believe that every day is Veterans Day. Our company’s appreciation for the military runs deep through our history. Our founder, Sam Walton, served proudly during World War II. Today, we actively seek veterans as associates to help us run our stores and shape the future of our business.

On Veterans Day 2010, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation committed $10 million to serve the veteran community, placing a special emphasis on supporting job readiness and training. This five-year commitment will also support nonprofits that assist our veterans in their pursuit of higher education and enable our veterans to more easily reintegrate into civilian life.
Walmart is the nation's largest private employer, and has tremendous resources to greatly assist vets. Including:

•Actively recruit former military personnel ;
•Helping former active-duty military employees transition into civilian jobs;
•Assisting veterans as they pursue their educational goals; and
•Providing access to behavioral health and family services for veterans and their families.
