Mob Banker squirms when asked about loans to criminals

While I was running the Chicago Marathon yesterday morning--scroll down one post for my report--Republican Mark Kirk and Democrat Alexi Giannoulias, the major party candidates for the US Senate in Illinois appeared on NBC's Meet The Press.

Watch as host David Gregory grills the failed Mob Banker, Alexi Giannoulias and see him squirm when he tells Gregory, incredulously in my opinion, that he didn't know the "extent" of the legal problems of the criminals he loaned money to while an officer at the since-failed Broadway Bank.



Giannoulias traveled to Florida to meet with one of those crooks, mobster and pimp Michael "Jaws" Giorango in regards to a loan for a property purchase.

In 2006 the Mob Banker called Jaws, "a very nice person."

Giannoulias counters that Kirk does not have private sector experience, but he did work as a lawyer for Baker and McKenzie. Kirk is a Naval Reserve office, Giannoulias does not.
