John Fund at Right Nation 2010

Blogging from the Marriott Chicago Northwest in Hoffman Estates, IL.

I just listened to John Fund of the Wall Street Journal speak at Right Nation 2010. He related to us a conversation with former Chicago City Clerk James Laski, who spent some time in the custody of the federal government, e.g., prison, because of his involvement in the Hired Truck Scandal.

Fund asked Laski, "When did you learn that things weren't on the up and up?"

"When I got a job out of high school--I was an absentee employee." Laski got the job through a Chicago alderman.

But Fund related how Laski explained that he did political work in the fall, handed out brochures and the like. The next summer, Laski found out that there was no job waiting for him. Why. Laski voted the previous autumn--absentee. Why? The alderman didn't like the way Laski voted.

Even in Chicago--ballots are supposed to be secret.

This is your country, Chicago. This is your state, Illinois.

This is your country, America.

Time for real change.

Fund knows his stuff, he's the author of Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy.
