Illinois needs to be power-scrubbed, and Republican Bill Brady is the man to do it.
Governor Pat Quinn, who twice was Rod Blagojevich's running mate, made a deal to protect 50,000 AFSCME employees from being laid off until mid-2012. A few days ago, Quinn received the union's endorsement. This is why government workers should be banned from joining unions. Who is looking out for taxpayers?
According to Crain's Chicago Business' Greg Hinz, the agreement, which is expected to be signed later this week, will compel the union to find and identify spending cuts totaling $50 million. But I don't trust Quinn or AFSCME.
Quinn, who trails Brady in the latest Rasmussen poll by 13 percentage points, is setting up something possibly intractable that Brady will have to cope with for the first 18 months of his term. Unless enough decent Illinoisans make their voice heard--now. And yes, there are decent people in this state.

And we thought IL was bad and corrupt under Blago. I sure hope the good people will step up. I really wish I could move, this state is a nightmare.
