Mark Kirk, the Republican candidate for the US Senate in Illinois, is a Navy Reserve officer. Alexi Giannolias, the failed mob banker who is the Democratic nominee for that office, has dual Greek-American citizenship. According to Big Government, he may also be a draft dodger.You see, after graduating from college, Giannoulias played professional basketball in Greece. But Greek law--and I called a friend of mine who lived in Greece who confirmed it--stipulates that all men over 18 must serve in the military.

Giannoulias, who has no record of accomplishment, can only attack inconsistencies and exaggerations in Kirk's military record. But Kirk volunteered to serve.
