Jurors in the corruption trial of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich sent another note to Judge James Zagel, asking for copies of the oath each juror signed and for instructions on how to complete a verdict form if the panel can't agree on a verdict on a particular count.
Hair-cutting readers are analyzing these reports, predicting this-or-that will occur.
But they may end up looking foolish soon, the verdict, or lack of one, could be announced later today.
As I noted last week, if the jury fails to convict Blago and is split on each count, this is bad news for Illinois Democrats--they don't need the hair-brained one walking around as a free man on Election Day. If he is found innocent on all charges, which does not appear likely, they still have to answer for the horrible stewardship of his six years as governor.
A guilty Blago is a no-brainer campaign issue for the Illinois Republican Party.
