Chicago approves third Walmart

Earlier today the Chicago City Council approved the city's third Walmart store; the nation's third largest city now has three Walmarts. The newest one will be in the South Side Chatham neighborhood, where Levois of It's My Mind lives. Steven Restivo, the director of community affairs for the world's largest retailer released this statement:

Today is another victory for the residents of the South Side. We appreciate the support from the City Council and look forward to delivering job opportunities and affordable grocery options to the Chatham community.

At the same time, we continue to evaluate additional opportunities across the city to help more Chicagoans save money and live better.
Illinois' unemployment rate is over ten percent.

I'd like to have the receipts from one cash register for one day at any of the Chicago WalMart's.

You're kidding. I have two Walmarts in my little town of 150,000 people. I shop at one of them all the time. Convenient, inexpensive, nice work place. Walmart gets a bad rap.

If they're being kept out, there's graft involved for sure.

The unions are very generous with Chicago aldermen.
