Dems shoot down resolution blocking EPA from regulating carbon

The Obama Administration is unable to push the radically unpopular energy tax, better known as cap and trade, through the Congress. Legislation that kills jobs, makes energy more costly, and micromanages, albeit in an expensive fashion, the types of windows we use in our home among other things is always going to be viewed as toxic by the public. Even the Cult of Change followers realize this, which is why its EPA has ruled that carbon dioxide is a threat to public health--so it can ostensibly regulate it--which will mean it will regulate every part of our lives that involve energy. Which means pretty much everything.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) introduced a resolution to prevent the EPA from making acting on its endangerment finding on carbon dioxide. Earlier this afternoon the Senate rejected it, but six Democrats joined the entire Republican caucus by voting "Aye" on the Murkowski bill.

Before the vote, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY( made these comments about the Murkowski resolution from the floor of the Senate:

That's why groups representing farmers, builders, manufacturers, small business owners, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are so strongly opposed to these EPA regulations, and so supportive of the Murkowski resolution to stop them.

These groups know that this backdoor move by the EPA would deal a devastating blow to an economy that’s already in rough shape. And so does the President. He had said himself that his plan would cause electricity prices for consumers to "necessarily skyrocket."

At a time of nearly 10% unemployment, these new regulations would kill U.S. jobs.

According to one estimate, the House cap-and-trade bill would kill more than two million U.S. jobs, and put American businesses at a disadvantage to their competitors overseas.
