Are you ready for my third consecutive Michigan post?Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), who succeeded his father in the House of Representative, plans to run for another term. The 83 year-old has served in Congress since 1955. I'm not big on term limits, but I have to ask: What on earth can Dingell bring to the House after all these years?
After the 2008 elections, Dingell was forced out of his chairmanship of the Energy and Commerce Committee by far-left Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), so the latter could push his cap and trade caper.
Dingell was among the first members of Congress to promote the dubious idea that health care is a right; at the opening of each Congress, Dingell proposes a government-run health care bill. But as ObamaCare made it's way through the legislature, Dingell was in the background, except the night ObamaCare passed the House.
His wife Debbie serves on the Democratic National Committee, the board of Wayne State University and the General Motors Foundation, and she works in a senior position at GM. The federal government owns a majority interest in the troubled automaker.
Big three automakers are, or perhaps were, major contributors to Rep. Dingell's campaign...let's see...what else? Oh, it's said the congressman owns quite a bit of GM stock.
Dingell's got to go. After Scott Brown's win, it's clear that no incumbent is safe in 2010.

A Congress of career politicians will NEVER allow us to constitutionally term limit them by an amendment. But we can IMPOSE term limits on them by taking these steps in the coming Congressional elections (‘2010, 2012, 2014):
1. Don’t reelect your Congressman or Senator.
2. Always vote, but only for the strongest challenger ,regardless of party .
3. If your incumbent runs unopposed, vote for his strongest challenger, regardless of party.
If Congress has not passed a term limits bill by 2014, repeat this in 2016, 2018.
Our only intelligent choice is to NEVER REELECT any of them!
The only infallible, unstoppable, guaranteed way to get a truly new Congress, AND a new politics, is NEVER REELECT ANY INCUMBENT! DO IT EVERY ELECTION until term limits is ratified. In other words, don't let anyone serve more than one term until Congress passes a term limits bill!
NEVER REELECT ANYONE IN CONGRESS. DO IT EVERY ELECTION! ... until we have term limits.
