The audacity of Obama on campaign financing

During last night's State of the Union Address, President Obama derided the recent Supreme Court ruling overturning a ban on corporate spending on political campaigns, declaring that the Court "reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests -- including foreign corporations -- to spend without limit in our elections."

Well, he's wrong about the foreign part. And he's a hypocrite. Before he won the Democratic nomination for president, Obama promised, as did John McCain, to accept federal funding--and the spending limits it entails--in the fall general election.

But he flip-flopped--while McCain honored his own promise. At the time Obama said the current system was "broken."

He ought to know--he broke it.

Just one of many Obama contradictions in this speech. Really amazing to watch him in action.

I'm convinced we're headed for a Blagojevich like period with a strangely out of touch Executive fighting with his own party's majorities in the legislature.
