Chicago Sun-Times: White House to announce Thomson chosen as Gitmo North

Dick Durbin's "dream come true," bringing 100 or so hardened terrorists to America's heartland, will take a big step towards reality tomorrow. The White House will announce Tuesday that it wants Guantanamo Bay North to come to Thomson, Illinois, according to Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Illinois General Assembly and Governor Pat Quinn have to approve the sale of the mostly vacant prison to the federal government, but the legislature is controlled by the Democrats, Quinn is a Democrat...well, you get the idea. Quinn is a big supporter of Gitmo North.

Moving Gitmo to America is such a bad idea that even Michigan--which is suffering with 15 percent unemployment--turned it down.

But leave it to Illinois, the land of Rod Blagojevich, Dick Durbin, and Barack Obama, to say yes to Gitmo on the Mississippi.
