Veterans Day, 2009

It's a somber Veterans Day this time around--the Fort Hood terrorist's killings are or course the reason.

As is the tradition on this day, I've included the Morton Grove Doughboy Monument in this post, which was built to honor the soldiers and sailors from this town who served in World War I.

Veterans Day was first celebrated as Armistice Day.

God bless our veterans. God bless America.

Yes, God Bless them. Without our Vets, the world would be a very different place.

Nice post, John. It is good that we remember them on this day and every day we celebrate our freedom.
