In September I was in the audience at the Tea Party Express rally in Indiana when Kenneth Gladney, who was selling Gadsden flags at a town hall held by Sen. Russ Carnahan (D-MO) in suburban St. Louis, told us of his being attacked by SEIU thugs.
Here's the raw video of the assault. That's Gladney on the right, the photograph was taken at the Indiana event.
Six people, including a St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter, were charged with misdemeanors involving the scuffle.
Gladney says he was attacked by Service Employee International Union members outside the town hall. But the Post-Dispatch failed to mention SEIU in its story. Of course they were compelled to cover the indictments because one of their employees is accused of not leaving "the site of an ongoing disturbance."
The paper is not being forthright in covering this story, Powerline is just one of the blogs blowing the whistle on the Post-Dispatch. I mean, just look at that video. There was, at the very least, an SEIU presence during the attack on Gladney.
Meanwhile, newspapers keep hemorrhaging readers. They can't blame all of their problems on the recession.
KMOX Radio had no problem mentioning the SEIU factor in its report.
Journalists have a duty to report events--they should not obscure the facts.
