Jim Ryan leads Ill. gov poll

Adam Andrzejewski's campaign released a poll that shows Jim Ryan leads the other Republican candidate for Illinois governor.

Jim Ryan 30%
Adam Andrzejewski 11%
Bill Brady 11%
Andy McKenna 10%
Kirk Dillard 7%
Bob Schillerstrom 3%

McKenna has blitzed the airwaves with commercials in the last few weeks, and Andrzejewski has run a few as well.

But Ryan leads.

Jim Ryan leads in name recognition. That was the POLL it is a name recognition poll!! Not whos leading the race itself. you forgot to also mention in the same artical that now the name recognition poll that it is EVEN!! This guy (RYAN)joins the race, has been in it for what a month and a half and hes your man? Why not look at Adams platform as his main objective is to bust up the Dems and Reps circle and clean up the corrupt politics First! Adam has the plan already in motion and has been in this race since June! Seriously please post this mistake and lets move on!

This is from the e-mail I rec'd from Adam's campaign:

(Elmhurst)- Republican Reformer Adam Andrzejewski has released a poll conducted November 15-16 that shows him tied for 2nd of the 7 Republican candidates for Governor. Impressively, Andrzejewski achieves this number despite being unknown to 67% of the Republican primary electorate at this point in the race.

After he is introduced to the same sample through a biographical paragraph, Andrzejewski surges to a commanding lead. This indicates that the support for the other candidates is soft and the potential for Andrzejewski to pick up new support is great. Here are the numbers, before and after the biographical paragraph is read.

Before Andrzejewski Biography:

Jim Ryan 30%
Adam Andrzejewski 11%
Bill Brady 11%
Andy McKenna 10%
Kirk Dillard 7%
Bob Schillerstrom 3%
Dan Proft 2%

After Andrzejewski Biography:

Adam Andrzejewski 40%
Jim Ryan 15%
Bill Brady 7%
Kirk Dillard 5%
Andy McKenna 4%
Bob Schillerstrom 2%
Dan Proft 1%

Donald- John is actually correct in stating that Jim Ryan leads the IL Governor Poll.

It seems to be because he is the only candidate that has held a state-wide position - he would obviously be known more widely.

When people hear about Adam's candidacy they like his policies and ideas and then prefer him. This makes it seem like he is probably a better candidate but suffers in the category of name recognition. Ultimately, you need good name recognition AND good policies to win this!

The Democrats have had control of our government for seven years. And over that time, our economy has tanked.

I like what Adam had to say he was asked about the progress of his campaign, "I'm a marathon runner, we're never gonna peak in this campaign in September. This is a staged process, with the peak on election day."

I am somewhat unhappy about how Jim Ryan had failed to pursue the allegations against Gov. Ryan when he had the chance and waited until the last minute to enter the race but this looks like a competitive election and it's definitely one we need to win in 2010.

My sight keenly on this dead heat and we all must agree to support whoever wins because Illinois can't afford tax hikes, mismanaged budgets, or even more corruption...

There was first a federal investigation of George Ryan...any worthy prosecutor knows that a parallel investigation would jeopardize the initial one.

John you are correct as this article is positive. but positive for ADAM. Listen, Jim is a promising candidate, but he also has been in this race before. and has held a seat in office and that.. for to many of us leaves a sour taste in all of our pallets. One would say he is good for the office as he has experience and the other would say that's exactly what we don't want. Time for new blood, new faces , new party and a new agenda!

I have 2 houses in Elmhurst not too far away from where Jim Ryan lives (on Mitchell) and my wife is pretty good friends with Marie as well. It's not like I am opposing his candidacy.

It's just that I fear that his ties with Stuart Levine, Schiller Real Estate deals, other evidences of lack of integrity could be called into account in the general as the probably will be in the primary too.

Republican and Democrat polls alike have shown that voters want a fresh face in Illinois politics. That person might not be your or my first choice but it is better that it would be Adam who has such an impressive platform and history of being a government watchdog and promoting transparency than someone out to protect the interests of the privileged few...
