Remember, President Obama and his backers emphatically stated that if the $787 stimulus bill passed--which it did--the unemployment rate would not rise above 8 percent.
This morning the Department of Labor released its latest employment figures; the unemployment rate has climbed to 9.7 percent, the highest in 26 years.
