Farrakhan praises Burris as a ’good man’

Just when Roland Burris was starting--in some eyes--to turn things around in regards to his reputation, a well-known bigot wanders onto the scene, as AP reports:

Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan says Illinois Senate appointee Roland Burris could be "a lot of good" that comes from the "cloudy water“ surrounding Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Farrakhan praised 71-year-old Burris as a "good man" Thursday while speaking on Chicago’s WVON radio station. His comments came as Burris testified before the state House committee considering whether to recommend impeaching Blagojevich.

Farrakhan says the media "literally tried its best to destroy" Blagojevich. The 75-year old says Burris is in the "closing years of his life“ and must see the appointment as an opportunity to leave a legacy as a U.S. senator.
