The re-tuned Big Three automakers' federal bailout request is in trouble.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) told AP earlier today, "I just don't think we have the votes to do that now."
Without giving specifics, the United Autoworkers announced today that it suspending its jobs bank. It's a program that allows laid off auto workers to collect 95 percent of their wages. Compassionate yes, but an expensive luxury during troubled economic times.
