Cold Sunday on the North Branch of the Chicago River

Just like yesterday and the day before, it snowed. Just a little bit.

And man, oh man, it is very cold for early December. The temperature only got up to twenty degrees. And in segments of the North Branch of the Chicago River, although not at this spot in the Bunker Hill Forest Preserve in Niles, ice is forming on the surface.

It's supposed to start snowing
tomorrow night, then change over to
rain early Tuesday. It's going to be messy. At least if it gets a bit
warmer that would be good. It did
get cold fairly early in December.
I remember one Christmas morning,
back in 1982 when it was 65 degrees
and I only had a thin sweater that
day. But that was short lived. The
temp dropped like a rock come
January. Remember that winter when
it didn't get above zero till
almost march?
