Exclusive from Andrea Shea King: Mrs. Reagan "not amused" by Obama's seance remark

Yesterday during his first press conference as President-elect, Barack Obama made an unfortunate, no make that cruel, remark about former First Lady Nancy Reagan.

At a news conference in Chicago, Obama said he had spoken with all the living presidents as he prepares to take office in January. Then he smiled and said, "I didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any seances."

The 87-year-old former first lady had consulted with astrologers during her husband's presidency. But she did not hold conversations with the dead.

Mrs. Reagan--and by the way, I think astrology is nuts, but none of us are perfect--met with astrologists to seek guidance in scheduling President Reagan's appointments. After the near-successful assassination attempt on her husband's life, Mrs. Reagan was terrified another attempt.

Mrs. Reagan is 87 and is recovering from a fractured pelvis.

Andrea Shea King spoke to a longtime Reagan family friend and was told Mrs. Reagan was "not warm" to the president-elect.

Oh, don't get your panties in a wad, Andrea. It was a joke. He meant no harm.

Wasn't it Hillary who talked about walking the corridors of the WH and conversing the shade of Eleanor Roosevelt? One is about as serious and important as the other. IE, not very.

It was Hillary.

As for the "joke," if it was, it was a mean-spirited one.

You see what happens when Obama is away from the teleprompter? The true Cult of Change leader comes out...e.g., Joe the Plumber, "clinging to guns and religion.

It WAS a joke.
And it was mean-spirited.
And the problem, at its crux, is that he didn't realize that when he popped it off.
He's tone deaf... thinks he's the smartest guy in the room.
There will be more of this stupidity to keep us amused for the next four years.
"Bushisms"? When he's not on a teleprompter, he talks like the village fool.

And what about the STUPIDITY of that statement on its face?
"I have spoken to all of them that are living."
Well, duh!!
As I said in my post on the subject, remind me what this guy's I.Q. is supposed to be?

It was in bad taste. Obama should
never stray away from the teleprompter.

...Do Republicans not remember Ronny Raygun's sense of humor? He had plenty of "mean-spirited" jokes himself; not unlike the jokes coming from this site or Ill Review or any number of other modern-day con talkers.

I have no doubt that Pres. Reagan would have felt just fine uttering such a quip himself. And I have no doubt partisans such as yourself John and Grey Beard would've had no problem with him saying it and then defending him til you're blue in the face because he never would've apologized for it either.

Man, your feelings get hurt easy.
