I'm watching live coverage of the vote in the House of Represenatives, and the $700 billion federal bailout bill of the battered financial industry has passed, comforatably.
The vote for the bill was 263-171.
This passing of the bailout legislation doesn't take the economy off of the table in regards to next month's presidential legislation, but it moves it off to the side--for now. Good news for John McCain. Coupled with Sarah Palin's performance in last night's vice presidential debate, it gives some badly needed momentum for the Republican ticket.
This bill, in my opinion, is far from perfect. But it had to pass. Uncertainty paralzyes busisesses, especially small ones.

Yes, it had to pass to ensure our glorious socialist future. Where no one will fail and no one will profit.
Too bad uncertainty doesn't discourage McCain lackeys such as yourself. Keep up the good work. All your "truth" telling really has Obama/Biden on the ropes. Will you cry if I bring up Michigan?
"Momentum?"
I think you've confused it with "Joementum", ca. 2004.
Why do you keep encouraging Chairman MaoCain and the People's Republican Socialist States of America?

Anon 7:08, Michigander GOPs sure are crying... and whining... and yelling... and cussing...
It was a dumb move, though it was unclear if it was a new strategy or tactic on the part of Chairman MaoCain; especially seeing as how PALIN!!! has disavowed any knowledge of the move, saying she disagrees with that other guy who she's been set up with.
