Fighting breaks out in the nation of Georgia

We live in an unpredictable and violent world. Early today Georgia sent its military to retake the breakaway province of South Ossetia. Russia, claiming that there are Russian citizens living there, quickly attacked Georgia.

Events like this one should serve as a reminder to Americans of the need to have an experienced and seasoned leader in the White House on January 20, 2009.

We have an "experienced and seasoned leader" in the White House right now (or at least he should be after 7 1/2 years).

Problem is he looks like a deer in headlights while talking about the topic. Did you see the Bush interview with Bob Costas?

Of course, Sen. McCain has come right out and mimed the Bush rhetoric, even kicking it up a notch or two, despite the fact there's no way to back up any of these "If you don't turn back -- you meanie Russians, you -- why, why, we're gonna do something!" Our troops are tied up in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Rob,
One should not let political prejudice cloud your grasp of the issues regarding Georgia. While most Americans probably can't find the State of Georgia on a map yet alone the nation of Georgia, one would hope Sen. Obama could find it unaided. But one wonders. In contrast, Sen McCain has traveled to Georgia, once or twice if I remember correctly. This real world experience is what John is talking about - as well as the maturity to know how to handle serious international issues. We can't afford a rookie at the helm, even if that means a John McCain.
