Obama gets undeserved United Mine Workers endorsement

Sure, the United Mine Workers union represents more than coal miners, but Barack Obama has done virtually nothing to help the coal industry, particularly in his home state. John Edwards probably greased today's UMW endorsement of Obama.

You mean "undeserved," not "underserved."

Ironically, as evidenced in the recent primaries, Obama may get the union's endorsement while getting only a small portion of their constituency's vote. It appears these folks are going pretty strong for Hillary.

Off the top of my head, the top coal mining states are Wyoming, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Montana. McCain all the way!

Why bother making an endorsement when these unions don't have control over their members?
