Political upheaval, sort of, in Greensburg, Kansas

As the rebuilding of tornado-devastated Greensburg, Kansas continues, life--and politics--goes on.

Municipal elections took place yesterday in the western Kansas town, just eleven months after 90 percent of village was destroyed by an F5 tornado.

The unofficial results show that the town's mayor was defeated, and the city council has three new members on the five person panel.

In a real show of class, the newcomers praised their predecessors, and plan to continue their efforts in constructing a new Greensburg.

Last summer I traveled to Greensburg, here are my posts about that visit:

So why don't we hear more about these tornado victims, while 2.5 years later we are still hearing about Katrina victims?

They're a tough bunch. Real nice people too, who didn't mind me tramping through their destroyed town for the blog.
