In a town like Chicago where people live on top of each other, coincidences like this one shouldn't be a surprise.
The "Rezko lot," the narrow strip of land south of the home of Barack Obama, is for sale. As most people who follow politics know, with the help of now-jailed Democratic political insider and slumlord Antoin "Tony" Rezko, the Obamas were able to afford their stately mansion in Chicago's Kenwood neighborhood. As I've stated many times before, it's still my belief that the Rezko deal was a nothing but a loan from Rezko to the Obamas--they would later repurchase the lot. Six months after the dual Rezko-Obama deal, the Obamas bought a 10 foot strip of Rezko-lot land.
The land was actually owned by Rezko's wife, Rita, but Tony cooked up the scheme.
Leonard Doyle of The Independent reports today that the real estate agent who trying to sell the land, Donna Schwan, is a Hillary Rodham Clinton supporter.
A self-described "Hillary Girl", Ms Schwan, who is trying to sell the plot of land next to the Obama's, muttered an oath about the secret service. "Just let them try and move me," she said. "Thank God this is still a free country." As many voters go into a collective swoon over the charismatic Barack Obama, the candidate promises to help Americans feel good about themselves and their country once again, Ms Schwan is urging a little caution. "I've been there," she says. "It's like going on a hot date with a cool guy, you just don't want to ask too many questions and ruin the dream."
I won't go into details, but there is a noticeable secret service presence at Obama's house, which is why I wasn't able to get head-on picture of the Obama home.
