Mets fan says he was tossed from Wrigley for throwing back Cub home run ball

I believe the Mets fan on this one.

Catch a Cubs home run ball at Wrigley Field, and you've got a souvenir. Catch a homer hit by the visiting team, you've got a crowd-pleasing projectile to throw back. That's the way it works.

But New York Mets fan Chris Innace turned that tradition on its ear by throwing back a Cubs homer Friday -- and he later got ejected from the ballpark.

He suspects there's a connection, although the Cubs deny it. Spokesman Peter Chase said throwing a ball back -- even a Cubs homer -- is not grounds for ejection. Innace got tossed for foul language and being aggressive, Chase said.

"Mets fans should be ejected just on the basis of being Mets fans," figures Brad Zibung, editor of the satirical Cubs newspaper The Heckler.

Although I don't think the Mets fan should get off easy in the PR battle. This goes for Cubs fans, too. If you don't want a home run, ball give it to a kid in the stands. It'll make the kid's day--if not year.
