Abraham Lincoln Home in Springfield
Just south of downtown Springfield is the Aristocracy Hill neighborhood. There you'll find the only home the 16th president ever owned. Until the 2005 opening (I'm going to do a separate post on that) of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library, the Lincoln home was the centerpiece of Lincolania in Springfield.
Little Marathon Pundit and I visited Springfield last week.
As with Lincoln's New Salem day before, we had the pleasure of avoiding the crowds--early January is obviously "off-season" there. There were only two other people with us for our ranger-guided tour.
