Veterans Day 2014: Marseilles, Illinois' veterans monument

While the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial is of course the dominant military commeration in Marseilles, Illinois, there is a more modest monument in the Illinois River town that bears notice.

It reads, "In memory of the men and women of this community who served their community to assure the ideals of liberty."

"They have not sacrificed in vain," it continues, "if we continue to protect our basic freedoms."

Remember and thank a veteran today.
