(Photo) Old railroad remnant in Skokie in the trees

I found a remnant of the old Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad between Dempster and Gross Point Road in Skokie yesterday afternoon. I thought all of the old tracks had been removed for scrap, but this portion is covered by thick brush, which might explain why it survives.

Pretty interesting. Love how you are finding all these “lost” local places.

Thanks. This one is pretty easy to find.

Oh, I'm a runner--Marathon Pundit--so I notice stuff on the ground level that others may miss in their cars or even bikes.
