Global warming: Coldest Chicago winter in three decades

It's been three decades--despite so-called man-caused global warming--since Chicago experienced a winter this cold.

Today is the 22nd day this winter that Chicago's temperatures have been at zero or below, more than the five previous winter combined.

From the Chicago Tribune:
Other cold facts:

• Since Dec. 1, the average temperature has been 19 degrees, 7.3 degrees below the average.

• So far, this winter ranks as the 8th coldest dating back to 1871.

• The latest run of cold temps has been formidable. Readings have failed to even come near 32 degrees in Chicago for nearly 180 consecutive hours. And it's far from over. Temperatures here may remain below 32 well into next week.
