Every once in a while I see this classic car, which looks like it drove off of the set of The Godfather, parked near my home in Morton Grove--it's a 1948 Chevrolet Stylemaster.
The design is pre-World War II--but this car and its kin were among the first to roll off General Motors assembly lines after the Japanese surrender. The Stylemaster was a big seller, but the 1948 model was the last year this car was produced. Then it was time for some real post-war automobiles.

Very cool, Marathon! And isn't it true that we can understand nearly everything about life from watching "The Godfather" and "The Godfather 2?"
