(Video) Joe Walsh speaks at a Tea Party Express Rally in South Elgin

America's Freedom Caravan, the Tea Party Express, brought some warmth to South Elgin, Illinois on a cold and rainy night two evenings ago. I arrived just as US Rep Joe Walsh (R-IL) started speaking. A Tea Party movement favorite, Walsh is in a tough race against Democrat Tammy Duckworth. Vile Springfield gerrymanderers carved up the Land of Lincoln in an attempt to reverse the GOP's stunning gains in 2010.

As I was zooming in, Walsh called America "the greatest invented God has ever designed."

"Guys and gals, be happy warriors," he shouted. "but be warriors." As for that gift, America, Walsh said, "I really believe we are truly losing it."

"I'm running against a woman," Walsh said of his liberal opponent, "who is trying to scare every senior in the district--that those big bad Republicans are going to take away your Medicare." He added, "I know most seniors want to do what's right. I have yet to meet the senior that says, 'I know that Medicare is going to be gone in twelve years if we don't touch it, but don't you touch my benefits.'"

Two days ago there were 47 days until Election Day, Walsh said. Now there are just 45.

"You are looking at a member of Congress who is simply a reflection of you," Walsh said as he concluded his remarks. "If you want Washington changed, it's going to be up to you. If you want this country changed, it's going to be up to you. It's not going to be up to your politicians. We follow--you lead. Continue to lead--47 days--lead us to the promised land."
