"First Amendment is our permit" occupiers hold Stop Rush Limbaugh March

ABC Chicago office
There was an Occupy Chicago "Stop Rush Limbaugh March" this afternoon--part of their ongoing anti-NATO Summit activities. The irony is thick here. Most Occupy movement marches and rallies don't have permits--when I confront occupiers about their lack of one, their reply is always, "The First Amendment is our permit."

Limbaugh's only tie to Chicago is that WLS-AM airs his show--the offices of "the Big 89" are on State Street in the Loop. About 200 people participated.

Clearly the occupiers believe the First Amendment doesn't apply to Limbaugh. Yes, you lawyers out there, I'm aware it's a murky issue how the First Amendment applies to broadcast media--over-the-air radio and television stations are licensed by the federal government--but level-headed people agree that what Limbaugh says on his popular program is constitutionally protected.

On a side note, the far-left wants to amend the Constitution to overturn the Citizens United decision.

I've been to enough of their rallies and read enough of their ramblings to ascertain that the Occupy movement only supports free speech when they agree with what is being said.

There is some unintentional humor in my video. Because Mayor Rahm Emanuel subscribes to the belief--one that I share--that camping in city parks is not covered by the First Amendment--the occupiers despise him.

So a few of the occupiers chanted "Rahm Limbaugh."

Who do they hate more?
