Video: Ann Romney in Illinois about her five sons

A firestorm is raging over the snideful comments made last night by Democratic National Committee advisor Hilary Rosen about Ann Romney

"Guess what, his wife has actually never worked a day in her life," Rosen spewed about Ann.

Ann fired back on Twitter, "I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work."

Two days before last month's Illinois Primary, Mitt Romney held a town hall meeting in Vernon Hills, Illinois.

The presumptive Republican nominee recalled how he met Ann and when they began dating. Romney then introduced his spouse, who spoke about Mitt's victory in that day's Puerto Rico Primary. And she talked about motherhood. "I do have five boys. We're so blessed to have five wonderful daughters-in-law as well and 16 grandchildren," Ann said to the supportive crowd that evening. Although it's hard to believe when you watch my video, Ann suffers from multiple sclerosis. She is also a breast cancer survivor.

UPDATE 1:40pm: Rosen apologized to Ann Romney about an hour ago. However, the battle isn't going away, as Weasel Zippers reports: Pathetic Spin: DNC Claims Conservatives Are Attacking Rosen Because She's a Lesbian Mother.

That's not the kind of work that counts with liberals. Now if she'd been a lawyer and had her kids raised by a Filipino nanny....
