Exclusive Occupy Chicago video: Arrests on LaSalle Street

According to Reuters 46 people were arrested at Occupy Chicago tonight.

The arrestees were with a group called Jobs Not Cuts. I hadn't heard of them before, but watch this video-- Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), co-chairs of the Congressional Progressive caucus, and disgraced former Obama administration green jobs czar Van Jones all speak at a Washington rally.

Jobs Not Cuts is hardly mainstream.

Occupy Chicago marched through the city's downtown in the late afternoon and early evening. The police blocked them on the LaSalle Street bridge just north of Wacker Drive. My guess is that the Jobs Not Cuts members volunteered to get arrested for publicity purposes--only people wearing their blue windbreakers were busted and led onto an awaiting school bus. Reuters says they were they were sitting on the street.

For the twentieth time or so, I have to mention that arrests at tea party events are unheard of.

You don't hear of this at Tea Party demonstrations because the Tea Party gets permits and are peaceful.
