Quinn finally pays up on Bears-Packers bet with Scott Walker

Tampico, IL,
Super Bowl Sunday
Over six months ago Illinois' Democratic Governor, Pat Quinn, made a wager with his Republican counterpart in Wisconsin, Scott Walker, over the outcome of the NFC championship game between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. The Pack won and went on to win the Super Bowl two weeks later. To pay up, Quinn committed to volunteering at a Wisconsin food shelter on Washington's Birthday, but he welshed--citing the dispute between Walker and the state's public sector unions.

Two days ago the Chicagoan finally paid up--donned in a Packer jersey in Kenosha--just north of the state line.

Here's an interesting bit from the Chicago Sun-Times:

Asked to name an American he would less rather lose a bet to, Quinn failed to name a more disagreeable opponent but said he was glad to draw attention to the important work of food pantries rather than make a traditional food-based bet.
There appears to be contempt in Quinn's heart for Walker. Let's put that into perspective: Quinn was convicted felon Rod Blagojevich's running mate. Twice.

In related Badger State news, the Tea Party Express will begin its Wisconsin "Restoring Common Sense" tour on Friday in Hudson. Quinn's fellow Democrats and their union pals are attempting to recall six Republican state senators. ThirdWaveDave has more.
