House passes Ryan budget; Roskam floor speech

This afternoon the House of Representatives passed Paul Ryan's Path to Prosperity 2012 budget, 235–193. It will cut $6 trillion in spending over the next decade.

On the House floor, Peter Roskam (R-IL), the Chief Majority Deputy Whip, praised Ryan's budget:

We can choose a historic plan that brings a brightness to the economy, that creates jobs and opportunity, that doesn’t mortgage our children’s future to China, and ultimately puts the U.S. on a global competitive basis the likes of which the world will have never seen.
