Mrs. Marathon Pundit was quite generous with me--she bought a DVD for me to get me worked up for Sunday's NFC championship game, Bears Defeat Packers.
There are three complete games in the collection. I just started watching the first one--the November 7, 1999 matchup at Lambeau Field--the Bears' first game after the untimely death of the legendary Walter Payton. That one has a couple of items to make Packer fans smile. It was during this game that Brett Favre set the NFL record for most consecutive starts for a quarterback--oops, I forgot you don't like him anymore.
And early in that tussle, Cade McNown, the Bears' injury-prone crybaby QB at the time, gets hurt and misses the rest of the game.
The second game is from 2006--the Monster of the Midway defeat the guy-the-Packer-fans-don't-like-anymore 26-0. And the final matchup, from 2008, was the coldest game in Bears history. But it was a warm one for Bears fans.
