Carol Mostly Clown won't discuss tax returns, says 'that's all there is to it'

That's all, folks!
As I blogged this afternoon, Chicago mayoral candidate Carol Moseley Braun released her tax returns. The former Democratic US senator is obviously struggling financially. That's an issue, as Roe Conn and Jim Johnson discussed on WLS-AM a few hours ago. Among one of Rod Blagojevich's twisted motivations was his quest for big bucks. Would a Mayor Moseley Braun be a venal one? That's a fair question. As for her tax returns, the ones she released after first declaring she wouldn't "because I don't want to," she won't talk about them. She told reporters today "that's all there is to it."

She's Carol Mostly Clown.

Last week the Reverend Jesse Jackson brokered a deal for US Rep. Danny Davis (D-7th) to leave the mayoral race, endorse Braun, so the city's black community could unite behind one candidate.

On more than one level, Jackson showed very poor judgement with his maneuver. The Jackson mini-machine, damaged by the transgressions of his son, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-2nd), takes another hit.

UPDATE 7:00pm CST: Leslie's Omnibus comes to a similar conclusion about the Reverend.

Well if this was about keeping a black in the race to at least draw a run-off well I'm not bothered by that only because well I'm not sure CMN or DD could've won this race.
