Using the melody of from an old Irish folk song, Congressional candidate Joel Pollak, a Skokie Republican, sings "The Ballad of The Tea Party" at yesterday's Chicago Tax Day rally.
"Hey, hey, what do we say? Don't tax our freedom away!"
"And the news spreads through our thirteen colonies, that our country's new motto is 'Don't Tread on Me!'"
Pollak is running against Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Evanston), one of the most liberal members of the House of Representatives. Joel is the man who famously confronted Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) about his culpability in the 2008 financial collapse.
Is there anything that Pollak can't do?
After last year's tax day tea parties, Schakowsky referred to them as "despicable" and "shameful." Worse, she defended the stimulus boondoggle she voted for because it "creates 3.5 million jobs." We've lost more jobs than that since then.
