2008 video: 8th grader tells Monica Conyers to act like an adult

During her stormy tenure on Detroit's City Council, Monica Conyers threatened to shoot someone, have someone beaten up, and most famously, while on the floor of the city council, called the balding president of that body "Shrek."

Watch as an eighth-grader explains to Conyers the importance of behaving like an adult in this 2008 video.



Conyers is married to House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers. Last week she was sentenced to a three year prison term for her role in a bribery scandal.

On Tuesday Monica was declared indigent by a federal judge, taxpayers will pay her upcoming legal bills during the appeals process. Chairman Conyers makes $170,000 a year and has served in Congress since 1965.
