Chicago Marathon: Cancer survivors

For twenty years, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program has organized groups to condition runners for a marathon. The lavender shirts are common sites in all types of races, but especially 26.2 mile contests. I saw at least a hundred of them during Sunday's Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

On the left is a cancer survivor, on the right is a man who informs other entrants that he is "7 years cancer free."

God bless you both.

It's great to see the work of these folks recognized. I'm always proud to see so many purple shirts in the Chicago Marathon and other area races.
