(Video) ILL-inois: Pat Quinn denies he's the target of federal investigation

Local and federal authorities are investigating a Chicago anti-violence program launched in the autumn of 2010 by Governor Pat Quinn. The Chicago Democrat and two-time running mate of Rod Blagojevich denies, however, that he is a target of these investigations.

Two of those who received money from the slush fund were the spouses of Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Dorothy Brown and state Rep. Will Davis--both pols of course are Democrats.

The Quinn slush fund was nothing more than electioneering "street money" used to drive up voter turnout in predominately black areas as Blago's successor faced a tough reelection.

He faces another one now.

From ABC 7 Chicago:

Decent Illinoisans deserve a better man as governor--Republican Bruce Rauner.

Greenland prime minister likes global warming

Greenland's prime minster, Aleqa Hammond, is looking forward to--assuming it exists--more human-caused global warming. A melting ice cap will make the world's largest island's mineral resources more accessible, which means money and possible independence to the impoverished land.

(MSNBC video) White House lost public trust over Benghazi

Yes, while the Obama White House is adept at winning news cycles with its spinning and holding back of pertinent information, it has lost the trust of the public, as the liberal talking heads on MSNBC admit, because of lies on Benghazi.

(CNN video) Jobless rate drops, but new jobs are low paying

The April unemployment numbers are out--and the jobless rate went down to 6.3 percent.

But those new jobs aren't as good as the old ones.

"The story behind the story is that so many of the jobs coming back," a CNN commentator says here, "have paid less and had fewer benefits than the jobs we lost during the recession."

Underemployment and those who dropped out of the workforce--the latter isn't counted in the jobless figures--are still a significant problem for the economy.

Gallup poll: Half of Illinoisans would leave if they could

This way out!
People in Illinois are getting smarter. Mismanagement and corruption are taking their toll.

As for myself, what I do for a living I can perform just about anywhere else in the country. Pretty much the same for my wife. And I can pay lower taxes, endure less crime, and have a local government that my not be honest, but it will certainly be less corrupt than here.

Soon Little Marathon Pundit will graduate from high school.

From the Chicago Tribune:
Half of Illinois residents would move to another state if they could — the highest percentage for any state, according to a poll released by Gallup this week. Nearly half of those polled in Connecticut and Maryland said they would move.

Some 19 percent of Illinoisans surveyed said they plan to move in the next 12 months, a rate that trailed only Nevada.

The New Jersey-based polling firm conducted interviews of 600 residents in each state, asking “Regardless of whether you will move, if you had the opportunity, would you like to move to another state, or would you rather remain in your current state?”

ILL-inois: Quinn fourth governor in a row to be investigated by feds

Chicago Democrat Pat Quinn, the governor of Chicago who twice was Rod Blagojevich's running mate, is facing problems of his own.

From WLS-AM:
The feds in Springfield are now on the case investigating Governor Pat Quinn's very controversial anti-violence program that the GOP calls a slush fund to buy black votes before the 2010 election.

This is the fourth Illinois governor in a row to be investigated by the feds. Before Quinn, governors Rod Blagojevich and George Ryan did time, or still is doing time, for selling their offices. Even Jim Edgar was probed in the MSI scandal, but survived the search.
Quinn was the patronage chief for Governor Dan Walker, who went to prison for looting a savings and loan. In a 1996 debate, Dick Durbin accused the phony-reformer of being a ghost-payroller under Walker.

The anti-violence program was of course a failure. More people are murdered in Chicago than any other city.
