"Put on earth" to fix Illinois pensions, Pat 'Kal-El' Quinn now says "I cannot act alone"

"Superman's Hometown," Metropolis, IL
Krypton scientist Jor-El sent his only son, Kal-El, better know as Superman, to our planet to save humanity. Over 400 days ago Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn said he was "put on earth" to fix the state's woefully underfunded public pensions.

Despite supermajorities in both chambers of the General Assembly, Quinn's fellow Democrats couldn't pass a pension reform bill. The pension millstone is a drag on Illinois' economy, and the funding shortfall, which grows by $17 million per day, currently stands at $100 billion.

But on Friday, as the General Assembly adjourned, Quinn said of the pension debacle, "I cannot act alone."

He can at least try leading for once. I mean, sheesh, he can't even direct members of his own party.

What would Superman do? Fix it.

What can Quinn do? Nothing, except release a childish video about pension reform featuring a cartoon python.
