Democratic Party of Evanston screening film about Bain Capital supporter Cory Booker

DPOE HQ, June, 2010
On Meet the Press a few months ago, Newark Mayor Cory Booker made these supportive comments about Bain Capital, the firm Mitt Romney used to run.

"I have to just say from a very personal level, I'm not about to sit here and indict private equity," Booker said. "To me, it's just this — we're getting to a ridiculous point in America, especially that I know. I live in a state where pension funds, unions, and other people are investing in companies like Bain Capital. If you look at the totality of Bain Capital's record, it ain't — they've done a lot to support businesses, to grow businesses."

Of course the Obama regime quickly conducted an intervention--Booker was compelled to roll back those comments.

I still classify Booker as a Bain backer. So I find it quite interesting that the Democratic Party of Evanston, which is about as far-left as President Obama, is screening Street Fight, an Academy Award-nominated documentary about Booker's run for office.

Does the Democratic Party of Evanston back Bain?

Coming soon to Iowa: Evanston Dems
If you have $15, you can watch the movie at the DPOE headquarters on August 19.

Look for DPOE members in Iowa--they have at least six trips planned to the Hawkeye State to campaign for Obama. If you see them there--ask the lefties about their support of Bain.
