(Video) Occupy Portland's legacy: Rats

In Oregon, Occupy Portland's permit-less camp downtown is gone, but it left a legacy: a huge rat problem, Newchannel 8 is reporting.

While there were rats--for now I'm talking about the four-legged kind--in the area of the old camp before the two-legged occupiers moved in, there are many more of the former now. The food from the camp of course allowed the population to grow. Can it get worse? Sure it can. Watch the video. It's clear that thanks to Occupy the rodents lost their fear of humans, they frolic at night like pet store hamsters.

The Portland TV station tracked down an occupier who of course refused to take responsibility for the rat infestation. "They're trying to shift it on us and say we brought rats," he told Channel 8, "and the fact of the matter, is they've been breeding for nine months. They should have known it and taken care of it."

But the occupiers shouldn't have been camping out there.

In Washington DC the rat problem "exploded" there too, courtesy of Occupy.
