Photos: Morton Grove fall color festival

Who says you have to travel to the Upper Midwest or New England to enjoy fall colors? If you live in the Chicago area, nature's color show is just outside your door. Or in my case, my door in Morton Grove, Illinois. Each of these photographs were taken this week.

Sugar maple in Morton Grove's Miami Woods.

Oaks adjacent to the restored prairie in Miami Woods.

That's a silver maple--it's adjacent to the Chick Evans golf course.

The running path in Miami Woods. More sugar maples.

A bit further north in Linne Woods, the maples are even brighter.

St. Paul Woods--at the Lincoln Avenue train crossing.

The Chicago River in St. Paul Woods.

Miami Woods once again.

And we end where we began. Sugar maples in Miami Woods.
