Obama misses the bus on tour

If he had to do it all over again, I think President Obama would have not gone on a taxpayer-funded bus tour of the Midwest. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), one of the most liberal members of Congress, vented about the tour, "We don't know why on this trip that he's in the United States now, he's not in any black community…we don't know that."

Obama said he would announce a new jobs plan during the tour--in three weeks.

The bus he was on was manufactured in Canada, which led Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus to comment in a conference call yesterday, "I think he should spend a little more time in the White House and doing his job as opposed to running around in Canadian buses and planning his next vacation in Martha's Vineyard."

The president's last two appearances on the tour were in Alpha and Atkinson, Illinois--in Henry County. On the same call, Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady remarked, "In 2010, just 2 years after President Obama won election to the White House, in Henry County, the Democrats lost control of the county board for the first time in 20 years."

This morning, first time jobless claims rose again.

Obama should put his big ears to use and start listening and stop lecturing.
