Republican Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica, the man on the right, is a voice of sanity in a lunatic asylum. In short, he's one of the best friends of Cook County taxpayers.
Property owners in Cook such as myself are facing a tax increase, possibly a massive one, this fall, as Peraica warns in this video. Worse, the Cook County Assessor, Democrat James Houlihan, says Illinois politicians are plotting to delay the mailing of property tax bills until after the fall election. Houlihan is retiring, so he can speak freely. If that's not enough, Peraica is blowing the whistle on an expensive $740 million bond scheme.
Meanwhile, Cook County is wasting some of that taxpayers' money. Luckily, Cook's check register is now online, thanks to measure first sponsored by Peraica. Click here for the ABC 7 Chicago video about the waste.
Many people are on the payroll of America's second-most populous county. Peraica believes we need an audit of county job descriptions, which include marble polishers and elevator operators.
