Detroit air terror attack fails

Another Michigan post...and I thought I was done blogging for the day.

Abdul Mudallad, a Nigerian man with al-Qaida ties apparently tried to blow up a Delta Air Lines flight as it was descending over Detroit Metro Airport on Christmas afternoon. Details are still coming in, but apparently the powder-and-liquid bomb was ignited by the terrorist--who received third degree burns. Passengers subdued the bomber.

There were 278 passengers on the Airbus 330.

A terrible, but not tragic, exclamation point for a horrible year for Detroit.

It's just a reminder that we live in a dangerous world and there are evil people who want to kill others. Setting up a Gitmo North isn't making a difference.

Correction: It was a Northwest Airlines flight.
