Feds interviewed Gov. Blagojevich multiple times

Something was unwrapped yesterday, and it wasn't a birthday present. It's bad news for the governor, and bad news for Barack Obama, who does not need more Rezko-reminders.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich has been interviewed multiple times by federal investigators looking into allegations that he and key members of his administration offered contracts and state work in exchange for campaign fundraising help, according to documents unsealed Thursday.

The documents were made public in the Antoin "Tony" Rezko criminal case on the same day that Blagojevich held a major fundraising event at the River East Arts Center. Similar events in past years have reaped millions of dollars for the governor's campaign, much of it coming from firms that landed lucrative state contracts and individuals given coveted state jobs or board appointments.

Although he had no official poistion, Rezko had a key role within the Blagojevich administration regarding staff hirings in the first two years of Chicago Democrat's term as governor.

And Obama knew nothing about that? Six months after Blagojevich was sworn in, Rezko held a major fundraiser for Obama's Senate campaign at his Wilmette mansion.

And yes, "Blago" did hold a fundraiser yesterday, 1,000 misquided souls attended.

Meanwhile, rumblings about impeachment continue.
